Counselor's Corner
Meet the Counselor

Greetings! My name is Miranda Jackson (she/her), and I’m proud to serve as the school counselor at Bea Salazar Learning Center. I’ve been working in education for over 20 years, and my passion has always been helping students grow—academically, socially, and emotionally.
I’m originally from southeast Louisiana, and I began my journey in education as a high school Math teacher. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics from Southern University A&M College. From there, I went on to earn a Master’s in Higher Education Administration from Louisiana State University and a second Master’s in School Counseling from Lamar University.
I believe all students deserve access to the tools, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. Whether I’m assisting with academic planning or emotional support, I’m here to listen, encourage, and help students thrive—not just in class, but in all areas of their lives.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, exploring new places, and cheering on my favorite sports teams. I’m grateful to work alongside such a supportive team here at Bea Salazar and look forward to working with students and families throughout the year!
